A visit to Forde Abbey

A few weeks ago I went to Forde Abbey which I am fortunate to live quite near to. As you can see from the images below it actually rained that day, which feels like a very distant memory given the drought we are currently in. The rain added to the atmosphere that day and gave me a chance to get some nice images of little droplets on the plants and really accentuated the textures on some of the leaves in the bog garden.

The garden at Forde Abbey is stunning and I’m always inspired by the planting schemes and the creative way that they have designed the garden.

I find photographing gardens like Forde Abbey pretty irresistible and I always take my camera when visiting. There is always something different to see every time I go there.

It’s such a calming place to visit and something I would highly recommend if you are in the area.
