Od Arts Festival 2023- Coming Soon!

It a was glorious, warm, sunny weekend in May 2021 and something odd was happening. All around the villages of East and West Coker, art installations and workshops were suddenly appearing.

What on earth was happening in these normally sedate little villages in Somerset?

The answer…Od Arts Festival 2021.

Od Arts Festival, run by OSR Projects is a collection of international artists brought together to exhibit in the village halls, pubs, churches and everything in between in the villages of East and West Coker, South Somerset.

The festival theme for 2021 was ‘Alone with Everybody’, which despite being devised before the Covid-19 pandemic turned out to be particularly apt as the world had been locked down for most of the previous 12 months.

It was an exciting and fascinating experience and luckily for me it was all happening in the village where I live and I was able to photograph it!

Now in 2023, the festival is back and this year’s theme is ‘Still and Still Moving’, a line taken from the poem ‘East Coker’, by T.S. Elliot.

On 26-28th May 2023 the villages of East and West Coker will once again be filled with installations and workshops by a huge variety of artists.

There are lots of opportunities to take part in the festival including as a volunteer steward.
